New Residence Hall
The University of Evansville is partnering with Groundswell, Servitas, CSO Architects, and Keystone Construction to develop a new residence hall on campus. The new hall will feature 293 beds and will have a mix of four and six-bedroom pod structures with enhanced technology and space. The pod concept meets the preferences of current and future generations of students who desire both a greater degree of privacy along with enhanced spaces to gather and socialize.
- Four-bedroom pods contain four single bedrooms with two bathrooms.
- Six-person pods consist of three double bedrooms with two bathrooms and separate vanity/sink area.
- There are a handful of single occupancy pods – these units will go fast!
- All pods have a shared living room and kitchenette, which includes a sink and refrigerator.
Location: The new hall will be located on Walnut Street where the current Brentano and Morton Residence Halls currently reside.
Size: A four-story building totaling 83,000 square feet with a central courtyard.
Cost: Approximately $18 Million financed with tax-exempt debt. Future debt service is funded through student housing fees.
Timeline: Brentano and Morton Residence Halls will be demolished in May 2021 after students depart this spring. The expected completion date for the new construction is August 2022.
